Falafel Pita Sandwich
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread small white pita, Falafel, Tahini sauce, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, fresh parsley
Recipe:
Wash and dice tomatoes, cucumber,onion and fresh parsley.
Prepare falafel.
Heat Alpha Pita Bread small white pita in a pan until brown on each side.
Stuff Alpha Pita Bread small white pita with diced tomatoes, cucumber,onionand fresh parsley and prepared falafel. Drizzle with Tahini sauce.
Pear, Shallot & Thyme Pita Pizza
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread large white pita, olive oil, garlic powder, dried thyme, cheese, pear and shallot
Recipe:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place Alpha Pita Bread large white pita on pizza stone or baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
Sprinkle on ¼ tsp of garlic powder and thyme.
Top with the shredded cheese of your choice, sliced up pear and shallot diced.
Bake 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and edges have browned.
Chicken Shawarma Pita with Tahini Garlic Sauce
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread whole wheat pita, boneless & skinless chicken breasts, lemon juice, plain low-fat yogurt, parsley, minced garlic cloves, salt, all spice, cinnamon & cayenne
Recipe:
In a small bowl whisk together chicken marinade: lemon juice, yogurt, minced parsley, grated garlic, salt, allspice, cinnamon and cayenne.
Pour marinade over chicken breast cubes in a resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to overnight.
While chicken is marinating, whisk together tahini garlic sauce in a small bowl. Check for seasoning and add salt and pepper to taste; set aside.
To cook chicken, pre-heat grill or broiler to high heat. Spray grill or foil-lined broiler pan with non-stick spray. Grill or broil for 4-5 minutes per set or until chicken is cooked through.
To serve, spread a quarter of the tahini garlic sauce down the center of each pita. Top with cooked chicken pieces, lettuce, tomato and red onion slices. Wrap tightly and slice in half before serving.
Garlic Pita Bread Bites
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread Large White, butter, crushed garlic, dried Italian-style seasoning, grated Parmesan cheese
Recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Open pita bread halves and roughly cut into approximately 2-inch pieces.
Arrange on a medium baking sheet.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and mix in garlic and dried Italian-style seasoning. Pour the mixture over pita bread pieces.
Sprinkle bread with Parmesan cheese, adjusting the amount as desired.
Bake in the preheated oven 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Pita Chips
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread large white pita bread, olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper
Recipe:
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Mix oil with paprika.
Separate each pita bread into two halves.
Slice the pitas into triangles, larger or smaller, whatever you prefer.
Place chips on baking sheet, on one layer and brush them with oil mixture.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Grilled Chicken Pita Wrap
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread whole wheat pita, boneless, skinless chicken breasts, lemon juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, dried oregano, small tomatoes finely chopped, crumbled feta cheese, and olive oil
Recipe:
Rinse the chicken breast and pat dry.
Combine 3 tbsp. lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic and 1 tsp. of the oregano.
Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes at room temperature with the mixture.
Combine the tomatoes and feta cheese in a small glass dish.
Add 2 tsp. of lemon juice, ¼ cup of olive oil, and 1 tsp. of oregano.
Cook the chicken breasts over medium heat in a frying pan for 8-10 minutes.
Lightly brown Alpha Pita Bread whole wheat pitas in a pan until each side is brown.
Slice the chicken into very thin pieces.
Split each pita. Place several slices of grilled chicken, 3 or 4 slivers of onion, a tablespoon of tomato-feta mixture, lettuce, olives, and 1 or 2 slices of bacon into each pita.
Pita Quesadillas
Ingredients: Alpha Pita Bread small white pita, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, green onions, tomato chopped, jalapeno slices, salsa, shredded Monterrey jack cheese, chopped cilantro, garlic powder & limes
Recipe:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut the pita bread into quarters. Carefully open each pita quarter.
Inside each pita quarter, add the cheddar cheese, green onion, tomatoes, a nacho jalapeno slice, and salsa.
On the top of each pita quarter add the jack cheese, cilantro, and garlic powder.
Set each pita quarter on a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven just long enough for the cheese to melt (about 5 minutes).
Just before serving, drizzle fresh squeezed lime juice on top of the quesadillas. Serve while warm.
